I’m a senior engineer with 8+ years of experience working with TypeScript, React, and Next.js. I’ve built entire React and Next applications, built backend and cloud APIs, and worked on huge projects collaboratively with teams of senior engineers. I can architect and build apps from scratch or work seamlessly with your team to improve an existing application. In a team environment, I can provide code reviews and encourage adoption of engineering best practices.
FRACTIONAL LEADERSHIP
(TECHNICAL, PRODUCT, BUSINESS)
I’ve successfully built and run multiple product companies over the last 15 years. I can build an engineering team that adopts best practices, moves with velocity, and choose the right priorities and trade-offs. Beyond code, I can fully manage products and business areas with with balanced attention to technical design, business objectives, finances, marketing, tteam building and leadership.
BUSINESS CONSULTING (OR CHATTING)
I periodically schedule both one-time chats and ongoing business consulting or ‘accountability partnerships’ with other business owners. Running a business is hard. It can help to get an outside perspective on problems, to brainstorm solutions, or to have a partner committed to supporting progress on important goals. We can also focus on supporting a healthy balance between business and personal goals (mental health, fitness, family). I’ve used such services myself and I’m happy to offer them to others. Given my background, it will work best if you are trying to build a self-funded software businesses in the $500K to $5M range.
CODE MENTORSHIP AND BOOTCAMPING
One of the most satisfying experiences of my life was working with a person who had little technical background but wanted to move into the engineering space. I set out a detailed and customized bootcamp program, and provided weekly accountability (and then job application support) nearly a year. We started at basic HTML and CSS.
